Preparing for an interview and writing a resume to promote yourself are really significant for everyone, especially for new fresher when they merely just gratuate from university. They are not your big challenge, though. Today I'm going to show you how to prepare for your interview and writing a resume.

What do I need to do before an interview?

  • Research the role and the organisation;

  • Think about how well your experience, interests and skills fit the job and the organisation;

  • Find out what the prospective employer is actually looking for;

  • Anticipate questions you might be asked, then prepare answers to these questions.

You should also:

  • plan the day of your interview, especially you have to know where the company is located. You'd better find out about the company's location before going to interview;

  • decide what you will wear for interview;

  • get an early night.You will feel fresh when you sleep early rather than night late.

What should you do to make good impression at a job interview?

  • Arrive on time;

  • Be organised. Take your application letter, CV, and other related documents with you;

  • Listen carefully to questions and answers them concisely;

  • Take note your best attributes in the interview. You should think about what you want the interviewer to know about you during the interviewing process;

  • Pay your attention to the way you communicate and using eyes contact. Speaking without using eyes contact like talk to non-living things. Interviewer will note your lack of confidence;

  • Practise anything you're concerned about. You can stand in front of your mirror and pratice your speaking. This could be saying your answers aloud, which builds confidence in hearing yourself speak, or having a trial run of the journey to the interview.

What should I do to control my nerves?

You're more likely to be nervous if you're inadequately prepared so as well as following our advice above, you should:

  • Give yourself time to think about what unique qualities you will bring to the organisation;

  • Think of practical examples to demonstrate what you have achieved in your working, educational and social life;

  • Write notes and take these along with to the interview;

  • Be aware of the structure of the interview. Interviews usually start with easier topic to answer, such as 'tell us about yourself';

  • Think carefully before answering a difficult question. Thus, in order to give yourself time to think you need to pause;

  • Use positive language. Do not try using any difficult works and slang;

  • Ask for clarification if you are not sure with what the question means;

  • breathe.
